MetroTalk v1.5 has been approved and will appear in the Marketplace later today. This release addresses the following issues:
- Fixed a bug where empty folders would repeatedly display the “No more data” message.
- Fixed a bug where placing calls would sometimes fail.
There also seems to be a problem with getting MetroTalk Free approved by Microsoft; it is currently stuck at v1.3. If you are interested in using the ad-supported version, please download the trial version of MetroTalk instead. This is identical with MetroTalk Free (fully functional; includes ads), but allows you to use the latest version until this issue is resolved.
A new version is out, with only a few but important updates; you can find the changelog below. As always, you can download MetroTalk from the Marketplace here. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting new features in the upcoming weeks!
- Fixed a bug where message sending would fail repeatedly.
- Complete overhaul of the settings page.
- Added option for enabling auto-correct for when typing a new message.
- Added option for automatically refreshing folders on start.
- Multiple minor UI fixes.
In the Settings page of MetroTalk, there is an option named “quick reply”. When this is enabled (on by default), you can click on newly received toast notifications and instantly view and reply to them. No communication with the server is needed, or loading the full application. This is the fastest way to manage newly received messages and the best way to save time in day-to-day use! If the notification is missed, then the live tile is updated instead. Any new information can then be viewed the next time you launch MetroTalk.
MetroTalk 1.3 is now in the Marketplace and will be available to all devices within the next 24 hours. This release (along with v1.2) fixes a number of issues that were identified over the past 2 weeks. Options have also been added in the Settings page, which allow customization of the interface. For more information, please visit the Changelog page. You can grab the latest version here.
MetroTalk Free 1.3 is also available. This release, is identical to the trial version of MetroTalk, and is ad-supported. You can download it from the Marketplace here.
An update has been submitted to Microsoft, which includes numerous bug fixes. This update also addresses the problem that many users have had with the Nokia Lumia 900. Unfortunately this new version will not be available for downloading until the end of next week, due to the current wait times for Marketplace approvals.
MetroTalk is the first Windows Phone app that gives a fluid Google Voice experience. It comes with full Mango support and includes push notifications for instantly receiving SMS messages and voicemail, even when the app is not active. Performance and user experience have been the major focus during development.
